Types of Raw materials for cement production :-

The most fundamental raw materials necessary for cement production are usually the portion of igneous rocks. The raw materials components range from lime stone, (one of the main components of cement) clay and marl or shale. With the technological evolution, the components of cement contain some supplementary components. Various industrial wastes like silica fumes and fly ash are included with the cement production as these have similarities with the properties of cement and improve the working quality of cement. Other materials may include Clay, Marl or Shale which can be gathered naturally.

Collection of supplementary constituents :-

Silica Fumes :- It is a by-product acquired from the smokes which are discharged in electric blast furnaces. These smokes are amassed and sold as silica fumes which behave as an admixture in the formation of cement.

Fly :- It is a pulverized fuel ash. It is usually a residue produced with coal combustion that is so fine to fly along with the flue gas. The fly ash is collected being acquaired by elctro static precipitators prior to flue gases extent the chimneys of coal fired power plant and in addition they are transferred for the cement production to the factory.
